Katie Furlong is the newest addition to the firm. She was born and raised in Baltimore and attended University of Pittsburgh where she double majored in History and Urban Management and graduated summa cum laude. Katie returned to Baltimore to pursue her law degree at University of Baltimore where she received a scholarship. She was actively involved in the law school community, working as a research assistant for Contracts, a Teaching Assistant for Legal Writing and Torts, and serving on Law Review. In 2014 she graduated summa cum laude from Law School and earned a place in the Heuisler Honors Society.
After passing the Maryland bar exam she worked at Textron Systems as an export analyst where she drafted the complex government agreements and licenses necessary for the company to sell and lease its military drones abroad. In 2015 Ms. Furlong began working in the Appointed Attorneys program in Baltimore City representing indigent clients during their bail review hearings and realized her appreciation for personal client interaction. After realizing that her passion lies in the courtroom, not in the boardroom, she began practicing law full time in 2016 and joined the Law Offices of Thomas Maronick Jr. where she specializes in criminal defense, family, and business litigation.
